Why June Might Be the Best Time to Visit the Isle of Wight

Long evenings, peaceful surroundings and all the comforts of glamping before the summer crowds arrive.

The days are long, the countryside is at its most vibrant and there's a wonderful sense of calm before the height of the summer season arrives. Beaches, coastal paths, cafés and local attractions are all ready for summer, yet there's still plenty of space to enjoy them at your own pace.

At The Hydeaway, June is one of our favourite times of year. Mornings begin with birdsong drifting across the fields, wildflowers sway in the hedgerows and the evening light lingers long enough for unhurried walks, relaxed meals outdoors and spectacular sunsets over nearby Gurnard.

Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a catch-up with friends or simply a few days away from the demands of everyday life, our bell tent glamping offers a comfortable and memorable way to experience the island.

Surrounded by mature hedgerows, wildlife and sweeping valley views, The Hydeaway offers a peaceful base for exploring the island. Spend the day discovering hidden coves, coastal walks and charming villages, then return to your own fire pit as the stars begin to appear overhead.

Comfort Beneath the Canvas

One of the things I wanted when creating The Hydeaway was for guests to have somewhere comfortable to come back to after a day outdoors.

Inside each bell tent you'll find proper beds, soft bedding and thoughtful touches that make the space feel welcoming from the moment you step through the door. The canvas filters the daylight beautifully, creating a calm, cosy atmosphere that's perfect for an afternoon rest, an early night, or simply sitting quietly and enjoying a slower pace.

There's plenty of room to relax together, whether you're sharing stories from the day's adventures, planning tomorrow's walk, or listening to the owls and birds settling into the evening. It's all about enjoying the simple pleasures of being outdoors without giving up the comfort of a good night's sleep.

To make June even more tempting, guests who book direct through our website this month will receive a complimentary fire pit and logs starter pack, ready for those long summer evenings outdoors.

If you've been thinking about an Isle of Wight glamping break, June could be the perfect opportunity. The island is looking its best, the evenings seem endless and there's still time to enjoy it all before the peak summer rush begins.
