A Little Hydeaway Summer Update…

Sunshine, showers, busy summer days and a look ahead to 2027

Honestly, where has the time gone?! We're now heading into the final month of our 2026 season, and we've had just about every type of weather thrown at us!

We started with torrential rain, followed by a seriously hot, dry summer. Lovely for enjoying the Isle of Wight... but not quite so lovely when the ground and surrounding countryside became so dry that we had to introduce a temporary ban on fire pits to help keep everyone and the countryside safe.

We know how much people enjoy sitting around a fire pit in the evening, so we were very grateful to all our lovely guests for their understanding.

The Island has also been buzzing throughout the summer, particularly during Cowes Week and the many other fantastic sailing events taking place on the Solent. It's been wonderful to see so many visitors enjoying everything the Isle of Wight has to offer — and we're delighted that so many have chosen to stay with us here at The Hydeaway.



And because this is Britain, the sunshine couldn't possibly last forever…..

We put up our gazebo to give everyone somewhere to hide from the blazing sunshine — and, almost immediately, it became somewhere to hide from the wind and rain instead! Typical British summer! Luckily, it's proving to be a very useful addition, and it means there's always somewhere to sit and enjoy a cuppa, whatever the weather decides to do.

Another little addition to the site has been our USB charging station, which is proving to be very popular. It turns out that even when you're escaping to the countryside and enjoying the simple life, phones still need charging!

So, as we head into the final stretch of the season, we're hoping for a few more sunny days, plenty of happy campers and some lovely late-summer evenings at The Hydeaway.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we're already starting to think about 2027. It's been such a learning curve getting The Hydeaway up and running, and we've got lots of little ideas about things we'd like to do next year. It's exciting to look back at how far we've come already and imagine what the next season might bring.

If you've enjoyed your time here this year and are thinking about coming back in 2027, we'd love to see you again. And if you haven't made it to The Hydeaway yet, perhaps next year will be your turn!
